Tojiro company presents the project "My First Knife"! It is intended for children over 3 years old and is considered the right choice for children over 10 years old because the knife is designed for beginners.

The blade is made of stainless steel in a Santoku shape with a completely blunt tip so that children cannot stab themselves on the knife. The stable plastic handle with a hook at the very end is designed to fit better in the hand and provide comfort during use.

The blade is significantly shorter than regular Santoku knives, but the height of the blade is also higher to make chopping and slicing movements as well as handling them easier for children. The entire design of the knife is adapted to the needs of children.

Finally, we note that the knife, although intended for children, is sharpened and can be used like other auxiliary knives, so you should pay attention to the little ones and show them how to use it correctly and be with them until they master chopping skills.

How to choose the first Japanese knife?

If you are buying your first Japanese knife, the advice is to choose a multifunctional blade shape that will cover the widest range of your needs in the kitchen. This includes Gyuto, Santoku and Bunka. The rule is that bigger people need bigger knives and vice versa.

Japanese knife as a perfect gift

Although in the culture of the Far East it is not recommended to give a blade as a gift because of the connection with cutting off good relations, they also could not resist the perfection of such a gift, so they devised a "trick" that allows them to gift knives without problems. Just ask for one coin from the person receiving the gift and in the eyes of strict superstition spirits it will be a fair exchange. Now no joke, a knife is a gift that unlike other transient things will be remembered forever because it will serve forever.
