This product is made in a completely new technology for the production of sharpening stones.

Diamond is the hardest abrasive in the world and can easily process even the hardest steels from which knives are made. Unlike other sharpening stones in which the abrasives are bonded using ceramics, the diamonds in this stone are bonded with an extremely hard resin. This resin retains diamonds and abrasives during use so well that just 1mm of this stone lasts 10 times longer than any other option on the market.

Granulation #1000 is a universal granulation on which you can sharpen a blunt knife but also maintain the sharpness of your knives. If you want one stone that will get all the work done, this would definitely be it. When sharpening German and other softer knives, the #1000 grit is the point to stop because anything over that is not very compatible with the softer steels. If you are sharpening harder steels, you can also stop at this granulation, and if you wish, you can go a step further and polish your knife on a finer stone. We do not recommend this stone for repairing damaged knives, but only for sharpening dull ones and maintaining the sharpness of slightly dulled knives.

Stone dimensions: 210x75x16 - Note: The thickness of the diamonds is 1mm

Weight: 684g

Although they come with a significantly higher price, these stones really pay off their value, which is reflected in the following:

- The technology in which it is made ensures that the stone wears out extremely slowly, which means that during the entire use of this stone you will not have to level it even once.

- The time you will save when sharpening on diamonds is also a significant factor. In almost a few minutes, even the dullest knife becomes perfectly sharp.

- In addition to time, sharpening on diamonds is a real pleasure.

- This stone is included in the Splash&Go category.

- The stone comes with a small Nagura, which serves to refresh the surface and keep the stone at optimal efficiency.

Method of use: Place the stone on a stand or on a raised surface so that there is free space for hand movements. Naniwa Diamond Professional stones are made in "splash & go" technology, which means that it does not require pre-soaking before use, just wet it and you are ready to work. When sharpening, add water as needed.

After use, rinse the stone under cold water, do not use a sponge or washing detergent. When you have washed the stone, lay it upright so that the water flows. Do not dry the stone with a cloth, but leave it to dry naturally.

Note: the stones are fragile, so keep them from falling.

    Sharpening Japanese knives

How to choose the first Japanese knife?

If you are buying your first Japanese knife, the advice is to choose a multifunctional blade shape that will cover the widest range of your needs in the kitchen. This includes Gyuto, Santoku and Bunka. The rule is that bigger people need bigger knives and vice versa.

Japanese knife as a perfect gift

Although in the culture of the Far East it is not recommended to give a blade as a gift because of the connection with cutting off good relations, they also could not resist the perfection of such a gift, so they devised a "trick" that allows them to gift knives without problems. Just ask for one coin from the person receiving the gift and in the eyes of strict superstition spirits it will be a fair exchange. Now no joke, a knife is a gift that unlike other transient things will be remembered forever because it will serve forever.
