The famous "Green Rouge" paste serves us for the final polishing of the knife blade. It is used in combination with a leather ceiling or a polishing cloth.

In addition to knives, it is extremely common in all branches of the metal industry whenever a high gloss is to be achieved. It is often used by goldsmiths.

What sets Koyo paste apart from other manufacturers on the market is certainly the perfect balance of the amount of abrasives and wax used as a binder. In addition to the above, most manufacturers use aluminum oxide, which they paint green. This paste contains only chromium oxide. There is no forge in Japan that does not use this very paste in its knife making process.

After sharpening the knife on a whetstone, the final polishing and wire removal is done with the help of leather ceiling and Koyo paste.

Material: Chrome oxide, wax.

Method of use: The paste should be vigorously rubbed over the surface of the leather ceiling until the ceiling takes on a green color. Repeat the procedure after every 3 strokes of the knife.

If you use the paste with the help of a rotary tool, apply it to the flic or canvas with very light pressure.

    Sharpening Japanese knives

How to choose the first Japanese knife?

If you are buying your first Japanese knife, the advice is to choose a multifunctional blade shape that will cover the widest range of your needs in the kitchen. This includes Gyuto, Santoku and Bunka. The rule is that bigger people need bigger knives and vice versa.

Japanese knife as a perfect gift

Although in the culture of the Far East it is not recommended to give a blade as a gift because of the connection with cutting off good relations, they also could not resist the perfection of such a gift, so they devised a "trick" that allows them to gift knives without problems. Just ask for one coin from the person receiving the gift and in the eyes of strict superstition spirits it will be a fair exchange. Now no joke, a knife is a gift that unlike other transient things will be remembered forever because it will serve forever.
