Tojiro hand-forged scissors are a very functional tool that can be used both in the home and in the kitchen. You can use them to cut chicken bones in half for making soups or for finer tasks like chopping chives. They are also ideal for cutting game, fish, crustaceans, plants, flowers and more. The opening in the middle of the handle is used as a nutcracker, the bottom of the handle is used to open jars, bottles and cans. Avoid cutting frozen food, large bones and other extremely hard items.

Tojiro hand-forged scissors are made of forged INOX stainless steel with a one-piece design and are extremely strong and durable. They have one straight and one serrated blade for easier cutting of skin and tough meat. The scissors can be disassembled to make them easier to wash and sharpen properly.

Material: stainless steel

Dimensions: blade length 75mm, total length 205mm

Maintenance: after use, they should be hand washed and dried with a cloth or towel. Washing in the dishwasher is not recommended. These scissors can be sharpened when extended. The best way to sharpen Japanese blades is by hand on a stone.

How to choose the first Japanese knife?

If you are buying your first Japanese knife, the advice is to choose a multifunctional blade shape that will cover the widest range of your needs in the kitchen. This includes Gyuto, Santoku and Bunka. The rule is that bigger people need bigger knives and vice versa.

Japanese knife as a perfect gift

Although in the culture of the Far East it is not recommended to give a blade as a gift because of the connection with cutting off good relations, they also could not resist the perfection of such a gift, so they devised a "trick" that allows them to gift knives without problems. Just ask for one coin from the person receiving the gift and in the eyes of strict superstition spirits it will be a fair exchange. Now no joke, a knife is a gift that unlike other transient things will be remembered forever because it will serve forever.
